The shootings were separated by just two and a half miles and an hour and a half.
The most recent shooting happened in the 100 block of West 74th Street at about 11:30 p.m. Three men hanging outside a home when someone in an SUV drove up, shot at them and sped off.
Just a half an hour earlier, two 12-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl had been standing outside of a home near 97th Street and Figueroa when someone drove up to them and started shooting.
All six are expected to be OK.
Police say they have not found evidence that the shootings were connected.
But that’s little comfort to neighbors, who say they’re fed up with the violence.
“It makes me feel a little more nervous walking here because I’ve been here in this neighborhood my whole life,” Donovan Fabian said. “It pretty much scares me that someone is out here shooting people.”
Investigators are not sure if the shootings are gang related and they’re asking anyone who saw what happened at either scene to contact them.
“It shouldn’t happen. You wonder why does it happen,” neighbor Joseph West said.
